Dermal filler is a gel-like substance injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, enhance facial contours, and hydrate the skin. Most fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps retain moisture and create a plump, youthful look.
Fillers can be used to:
✔ Add volume to lips, cheeks, and temples ✔ Define the jawline and chin ✔ Smooth nasolabial folds (smile lines) and marionette lines ✔ Improve under-eye hollows (tear troughs) ✔ Hydrate the skin for a refreshed appearance
Results are immediate and can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the type of filler and the area treated. Since HA fillers are dissolvable, they offer flexibility and customization to achieve natural, balanced results.
The amount of dermal filler you need depends on several factors, including the treatment area, your facial structure, and your aesthetic goals.
Here’s a general guideline:
Lips – 0.5mL (subtle hydration) to 1mL (fuller volume)
Cheeks – 1 to 3mL per side for contour and lift
Chin – 1 to 3mL for projection and balance
Jawline – 1 to 3mL per side for definition
Smile lines (nasolabial folds) – 0.5 to 2mL per side
Marionette lines – 0.5 to 2mL per side
Tear troughs (under eyes) – 0.5 to 1mL per side
Temples – 1 to 2mL per side for hollowing
Everyone's needs are different, so a consultation is the best way to determine the right amount for you.
The longevity of dermal filler depends on the type of filler used, the treatment area, and individual factors like metabolism and lifestyle. Here’s a general guideline for how long different fillers last:
Lips – 6 to 12 months
Cheeks – 12 to 18 months
Chin & Jawline – 12 to 18 months
Tear Troughs (under eyes) – 9 to 12 months
Nasolabial Folds & Marionette Lines – 9 to 18 months
Temples – 12 to 18 months
Since hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers gradually break down over time, results fade naturally. Some areas, like lips, break down faster due to movement, while areas with less motion, like the cheeks and jawline, tend to last longer. Regular maintenance treatments can help prolong results and keep a refreshed, natural look.
There is insufficient data to be certain about the safety of dermal fillers.
We truly advise to wait until after your pregnancy to get any injections done.
Day One:
Ice the treated area for 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off to reduce swelling and minimize bruising.
Avoid blood thinners, including alcohol, for at least 24 hours.
Stay hydrated and use topical or oral arnica to reduce bruising and promote healing.
Tylenol is safe for pain relief and won't increase bleeding or bruising.
Medications like Benadryl, Claritin, or Reactine can help reduce swelling and sensitivity.
Refrain from touching, manipulating, or applying direct pressure to injection sites for 3 days.
Avoid makeup, strenuous exercise, and extreme temperatures for 1 day.
Sleep on your back for 2 weeks to avoid pressure on treated areas.
Day Two:
Continue icing the treated area. You may resume normal activities and apply makeup.
Day Three:
Apply a warm compress to encourage healing and reduce bruising.
For lip filler, begin gently massaging your lips if you notice any bumps or nodules.
